I have this habit of thinking of finals as a big game I have to play. Now, this might remove a certain amount of stress, but have you ever played a game against me? I'm really uncompetetive.

Well, actually, I just don't like putting forth all the effort it would take to win. Say, I'm playing someone in chess. They might spend minutes at a time planning their move. But it's just a game, you know, and I don't really care if I win, and I certainly don't wanna invest time and effort in it, so I just sorta make the first move that isn't blatantly idiotic. It usually does turn out to be idiotic, though, and I quickly lose the game. So, yes. Analogy over.
